Castles and formal gardens abound in this small Germany town. Visit Schloss Johnannisburg, a Renaissance castle on the bank of the Main River, or the Pompeianum, a replica of a palace discovered in the ruins of Pompeii. The beautiful grounds of Schonbusch Park, with its formal 18th-century gardens and mirror-like lake, offer access to a small neoclassical castle. In the summer, visitors can rent boats and sail on the lake.
